Vaccinations

We only board dogs and cats that can show that they are fully vaccinated and are up to date with their annual booster. It is essential that you bring your vaccination certificate, signed by your vet, when you drop off your pet.

If a pet is required to start the vaccination course again, the process takes seven weeks for dogs and approximately 5 weeks for cats. We are legally allowed to accept them two weeks after their second vaccination.

Dogs MUST be vaccinated for Distemper, Infectious Hepatitis, Parvo Virus and Leptospirosis. These are normally shown as DHPPI (booster required every three years) and Lepto 2 or 4 (annual booster) on your vaccination card.

Infectious Tracheobronchitis (Kennel Cough), is not mandatory but desirable, particularly for old or young dogs. This is often not routinely administered at the time of your dog's annual booster so may need to be requested.

Kennel Cough is impossible to completely guard against but an up to date vaccine reduces the risk of catching kennel cough by up to 80% and makes it less likely that your dog will be as poorly as it would otherwise have been.

IMPORTANT: The kennel cough vaccine must NOT be given within two weeks of your dogs stay as it is a live vaccine.

Cats MUST have up to date vaccinations for Feline Enteritis, Feline Chlamydia, Feline Influenza and Feline Leukaemia.

We do not accept entire male cats over 6 months old.

All pets should be treated for fleas and wormed before boarding.

Please bring your cat in a secure, recognised cat travel container. Please leave this with us for the duration of your cats stay.

The Animal boarding Establishment Act 1963 requires that a current vaccination certificate must accompany every boarder on the day of its arrival.

Medication

Please advise on any previous medical conditions and medication required when booking in your pet.

We are able to administer medication prescribed by your vet as long as this has been discussed and agreed at the time of booking.

Medication must be in the vets prescribed packaging with the vets' instructions and the medication section of the booking form completed. Remember when you drop your dog or cat off to leave time to discuss your pets' prescription.

We regret that we do not inject dogs or cats in our care, including insulin for diabetes.

Veterinary Attendance

Should veterinary attention be required, we will endeavour to use your own veterinarian, should this not be practical for any reason Mosside will use our own practice. All pets can be guaranteed immediate attention.

All veterinary costs will be charged to your account and must be settled in full on collection of your pet. If the dog or cat remains at the vets' any out standing veterinary fees must be settled prior to removal. Please see bellow information regarding our kennel insurance.

Health and Behaviour

Understanding your pets individual ways will help us allow each dog and cat to have a more enjoyable stay. Please let us know if your dog or cat has any behavioural issues you feel we should know. However, we cannot accept any dogs that bite, show any aggressive behaviour or are listed under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.

We reserve the right to refuse boarding to any pet that causes concern due to aggressive or destructive behaviour or who gives us cause for concern due to ill health on arrival.

Licence & Insurance Cover

Mosside is licenced for dog and cat boarding and is fully insured.

Whilst every care and attention will be given to each animal boarded, we cannot be held responsible for loss either from illness or any other cause. All pets in our care are covered by Pet Business Insurance for any illness or injury which occurs whilst boarding and was not a pre existing or age related condition, up to a maximum of £2,000. A pre-existing condition includes any condition which the veterinary surgeon believes present or incubating on arrival of your pet or secondary to an underlying health problem of your pet or against which a vaccine is available.

For further information please speak to a member of staff.

Abandoned Animals

In the event of an animal not being collected or boarding fees not being paid, the proprietor may dispose of the animal after giving 14 days notice to the owner, or his representative at their last known address.

Belongings

We provide every thing you dog or cat needs for its stay at Mosside. We have a plentiful supply of toys. Please don't bring any thing precious or any thing you would not want to lose and the kennels and bedding are cleaned often and your items could easily be lost.
